My screen is blinking, my apps are gone, and I can't navigate around my computer.
Last night I turned off my computer like I normally do when I go to bed.
This morning, when I turned my computer on, it was loading extremely slow and nothing was happening for at least 20 minutes.
So I turned it off and when I turned it back on it said
something along the lines of "sing in failed" (but it was not like the normal error message if you type in your password wrong) and then proceeded to do what it did the first day I got it.
It acted like this was my first boot up (it said it was installing
apps, all that jazz you go through the first time you start up your windows 8 computer) and just now when I went to sign in with the same microsoft account that I had on it before, it only showed like, 5 apps (I had about 30) and the screen keeps blinking
from that start up screen to a purple blank screen so I can't navigate around to see if I've lost everything.
Did I just lose everything? What do I do to stop this blinking?

In order to resolve this issue, I would recommend you to run an online virus scan and then perform system restore.
If the issue persists, you may create a new
user account and check if that helps.
If you still face issue you may try using a different user account.

d) Once the ‘User Account’ has been created, login to the new user account.
